Our community garden signs have arrived–we will be placing one at each of our garden sites: Hog Hammock on Sapelo Island, Ida Hilton in Darien, and Camden County in Kingsland. Thanks so much to Pierce County Graphics for doing such a great job! Come check out what’s growing at our libraries!
Bruce the Bear made his third stop at Charlton County Public Inc. –notice the nice new wall insulation that has been added to the meeting room, just in time for Summer Reading.
Our community garden project at Hog Hammock was a not only fun but educational for everyone involved–we had to work together to decide where to plant everything (which plants need more light and how far apart do they need to be). We should see some peppers, tomatoes, herbs, and maybe even a lime in the next few weeks. If you visit Sapelo Island, make sure to check out what’s growing! A garden sign will be placed there soon too!
Our U. S. Representative, Buddy Carter, stopped by the site of the upcoming Woodbine Library last Friday to donate a copy of Women in Congress in honor of Women’s History Month. Thank you, Mr. Carter, for the special book and the visit! We appreciate your support!
We had the perfect end to our Ga Ag Awareness week at the Hog Hammock Library on Saturday—this book was graciously donated by a patron/community member. We are planning a community garden right beside the library that was just cleaned up and now has a beautiful picket fence, donated by Maurice Bailey. Our new book will help explain so many parts of building a successful garden. Thanks so much for the book donation and the fence!
We visited the site of the upcoming Woodbine Public Library, Inc. last weekend after working our booth at the Jazz ‘n Art Festival on the River Walk.
We had a very successful StoryBox event Saturday at the Hog Hammock Library (and community) on the beautiful Sapelo Island! We had former Library Manager, Michele Johnson, an award winning writer and artist stop by to tell us her story and we saw NFL Kansas City Chiefs player, Allen Bailey, at the general store—he was happy to tell us his story as well. StoryBox is not only about collecting stories but connecting communities. We look forward to future events around our region!

Anna and Elsa stopped by Long County Public Library for a Frozen storytime!
Clifford visited our Three Rivers libraries and had so much fun meeting everyone!

Thank you to Golden Isles House Rabbit Society for teaming up with Alice and Three Rivers!
We had a great time joining the St. Marys Public Library for the annual Scarecrow Stroll in downtown St. Marys and Long County Public Library for trunk-or-treat at Smiley Elementary!
Our patrons learned about the stars when we brought this mobile planetarium to our libraries. Thank you to the Wayne County School Board for letting us borrow it!
Pirate Day was a great success!
Three Rivers was so excited to help Camden County Public Library with their Harry Potter Birthday Party! We also enjoyed the eclipse program at Wayne County Public Library!
Pete the Cat had so much fun visiting some of the Three Rivers libraries as part of summer reading!
We have enjoyed bringing the Imagination Station to our regional libraries this summer!
